Why do Finland's schools get the best results?

There are two very good video's from the BBC on this site.  I can't seem embed them.  In total only about 10 minutes of viewing time.  Well worth it.  At the risk of stating the obvious, maybe we should look at Finland before trying untested policy on a generation of children.

I like the thinking

So after posting a short comment about Finland earlier today, I came home and flicked through the first few pages of this weeks edition of TIME.

Forget life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  How about the right to high speed internet?  One Oct 14, Finland announced plans to ensure that the 5.3 million citizens have access to to a 1 megabit per second broadband connection by July 2010 and a 100 megabit per second connection by 2015.  Government officials say Finland is the first nation to make broadband access a legal right.

I was impressed when our current government realised that broadband was important to our countries future prospects.  However this leaves us for dead.

I wonder?

Just yesterday Finland along with Denmark and Norway were named in the top ten or the worlds happiest places. I got to wondering if this might be linked to their education performance?  Just a Thought.
